When Sierra Blanca Estates and The One Atelier, creators of the residential complex EPIC Marbella Furnished by Fendi, approached me to produce the official images of their joint project, I was naturally thrilled. EPIC Marbella has since its inception become a residential milestone not only on Costa del Sol, but in all of Spain.
I soon realized that the shoot was going to be hard work. Despite the outstanding interior design work and exceptional architectural features, I would have to produce images reflecting the finished project in the midst of what was still ongoing construction work. In the actual show flat, I would need to share the space with a considerable crew of electricians, carpenters, interior design installers, domotic specialists and other craftsmen performing their final touches.
A shoot of this nature requires not only patience, but also good team work skills. The space in front of the camera needs to be managed and controlled whilst at the same time not interfering in the jobs of all other professionals on site.
Another important skillset comes into play after the shoot. Once in post-production, not only do cranes, building material and general debris need removal, parts of the surrounding building structures still under construction had to be finalised digitally.
The resulting images have been shared widely both in the actual sales channels and in international press, providing me frequent reminders of this fantastic project for which I am very grateful to have been a small part of.
